Volunteer
If you are interested in volunteering for PSA, please complete and send us this
Volunteer Application Form.  You will need Adobe Reader to open the file.  For
more information about our current opportunities, call us at
650-565-8485 or
email support@psastroke.org . Below you will find examples of the areas where
PSA needs more help:

Public Education Associates
The Peninsula Stroke Association seeks volunteers to help at health fairs
distributing printed materials regarding stroke education and answering
questions about our services from fair attendees. Familiarity with the medical field
not necessary; positive approach to learning and proactive attitude a definite plus.
Possible expansion of position includes volunteer work in our office locating
additional health fair opportunities in our service area, and developing additional
venues for materials distribution.

Speakers and Facilitators
Physicians, nurses, physical, speech and occupational therapists are needed to
give public education lectures related to stroke and/or to lead stroke support
groups.

Peer Visitors
Stroke survivors and caregivers are needed to visit newly diagnosed stroke
patients and their family members during the inpatient rehab phase of recovery.
Volunteers will make visits to provide support and encouragement to patients and
their families and provide a resource booklet we've compiled.

Office Assistants
Volunteers are needed to assist with light clerical work, data entry and phone calls
in the PSA office.  Hours are flexible.

Special Events Assistants
Volunteers are periodically needed to help organize special social events and
educational forums. The level of volunteer commitment varies with each event.
